Directions for Completing the Scholarship Application

This scholarship award is available only to students of African heritage who are residents of the Puget Sound region of the State of Washington. Please take time to carefully read these directions to ensure that you fully complete this application. Every application must include the following items and must be received by the February 15 deadline.

  • The completed application (Adobe PDF file)

  • Two (2) letters of reference1

  • One (1) unofficial transcript

  • One (1) Essay or goal statement that conveys your reason(s) for pursuing a career in professional nursing.

Note: The scholarship committee will schedule interviews with all finalists in early March. All awards will be announced by mid-March.

1 Letters of reference may be provided by former teachers, community residents, religious leaders or others who can provide substantive information about your academic, personal and volunteer activities.
